River Winds Farm and Estate

River Winds Farm & Estate

The Estate

River Winds Farm & Estate is a 160-acre family owned and operated property featuring incomparable event venues and lovely outdoor facilities suited for nearly any occasion. Established in 2005 by the Austin Family who first enjoyed it as their hobby and horse farm. Now, over the last decade, the family has decided to open its farm and estate up to the public to enjoy as much as they do. The property now serves as an events center, wedding venue, vacation and family function destination, and equestrian boarding and performance center.

The Estate features a fully-restored historic home, large event barn with walk-out deck, and horse stables and arena. Additionally, perennial gardens and lawns, acres of pastures and fields, woods and riding trails, mark this gorgeous property, all abutting the Saco River. The quaint, comfortable farmhouse with exposed wood beams and wide-plank floors, has plenty of room to spread out. The grounds provide room for lawn games and sunning, swimming in the pool, or enjoying our miles of trails down to the river.

River Winds can host large events up to 250 guests or the most intimate soiree. The property also hosts vacationers and families looking for the perfect pastoral Maine setting to use as their vacation home base.

Austin House

The historic farmhouse, Austin House, is original to the property. The 8-bedroom, 4 ½ bathrooms house sleeps 16 comfortably and features a sprawling floorplan complete with chef’s catering kitchen, large dining room, sitting rooms, screened sunroom, and indoor heated lap pool. There is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves together, or get some solitude indoors or walking our several miles of groomed trails down to the Saco River.

Perfect for a destination wedding, the bridal party can prepare in the house with plenty of room for hair and makeup, private sitting rooms to practice vows, areas for parents to relax, and the groomsmen can stay out of the way in our Man Cave.

Austin House also makes the perfect getaway vacation to Maine! We are conveniently located to enjoy surrounding cities, restaurants, shopping and beaches, yet rural enough to feel that you have truly escaped to greener pastures.

Plan your getaway now – stay all together in one beautiful setting.

The Barn

Our event barn is a large rustic event venue that is well-maintained and comfortable while still maintaining its rustic charm. Horse stalls, post and beam construction, and wide plank floors serve as a perfect backdrop for wedding receptions and parties. The Barn’s attached walk-out 24’ x 60’ deck provides the perfect viewing spot for evening sunsets.

The Man Cave

While the bridal party prepares in the main house, the groomsmen can stay out of the way in our Man Cave. Complete with a bar, game tables and comfortable leather seating, the guys can enjoy a game of poker or a few beers before the big event.

Horse Stables & Arena

Our horse boarding facility and arena was built in 2011, and has 9 stalls, 10 outdoor turnout areas, heated tack room, viewing deck and viewing lounge. The 90’ x 180 lighted indoor arena is a perfect spot for horse training clinics, group horse therapy sessions, and horse competition and performance shows.

The Estate Grounds

The Estate’s 160-acres provide room for any number of outdoor activities. You might choose to sit around the firepit or run a 5k on our groomed trails. Our Saco River access, and we can provide the kayaks, offers lovely places to contemplate, swim or paddle.
