We find we are getting asked a lot about what outdoor and open air spaces we have to offer here at the Farm to accommodate those concerned about the spread of coronavirus. We are happy to say we have LOTS of them!
From our large event barn with lots of windows and huge barn door that can be left open, to our spacious deck and terraced patio, to expansive lawns for tents or gatherings – we have many options available for clients who want to host events with lots of fresh air included.
Our Barn is the perfect event venue for gatherings who prefer to be out of the weather, but still allowing for plenty of air circulation. The barn is a fully converted event venue space to comfortably host a wedding, sit down meal, or cocktail or dance party. The barn can be fully temperature-controlled with installed heat and air conditioning, or left open for plenty of fresh country air. Still maintaining all the charm of an antique barn, this special space features original horse stalls, and exposed post and beam construction.
Depending on the style of your event, the barn can comfortably hold175 people seated, and up to 250 guests utilizing our indoor/outdoor space.
Attached to the barn is our walk-out 24’ x 60’ deck. This newly constructed area provides the perfect place for cocktail receptions and casual gatherings. Looking out over the Estate’s pond and fields, this space is also the perfect viewing spot for evening sunsets over the Saco River.
This outdoor area is ideal for getting fresh air during a barn event, can be set up with sit-down style tables, high-tops suitable for cocktails and light fare, or left more open for casual mingling or dancing.
They say all dark clouds have a silver lining, and ours during the pandemic was the inspiration to expand our outdoor event area to include a gorgeous 34’ x68’ laid-stone patio. This area flows off the barn’s deck, and is great for an outdoor wedding, a place for your guests to wander during your event, or as another open air event space at the Farm.
The Patio comfortably fits up to 150 people.
Part of our large acreage around the farmhouse and barn include a generous expanse of lawn. There is plenty of space to assemble a large tent for your event, or provide space for your crowd to move about.
River Winds Farm & Estate is a 160-acre family owned and operated property that offers numerous outdoor spaces and options for your event. Our charming pond, just off the backyard and gardens, is a picturesque spot to say your vows, gather for a group retreat, or take group photos.
In addition to being an event venue, we are also a working horse farm, with boarding and show arena. Our haying fields are a beautiful backdrop to any event, and we have several miles of trails for walking, running and riding that conclude at the banks of the Saco River.
